Every now and then a recognition comes along that truly stops us in our tracks — and being named among the best restaurants in Houston by Condé Nast Traveler was one of them.

Condé Nast Traveler’s recommendations reach travelers and food lovers around the world, so seeing BB’s Tex-Orleans on that list put our Houston-born, Louisiana-rooted Cajun cooking in front of a remarkable audience. For a brand that grew from a single nine-table dining room in Montrose, sharing space with the city’s most celebrated kitchens is humbling in the best way.

That honor reflects countless plates served over the years: heaping trays of seasoned crawfish during the season, bowls of Maw Maw’s gumbo, po’boys dressed and overstuffed on French bread, and fresh Gulf seafood done right. It’s the cooking that defined Tex-Orleans — Louisiana tradition with genuine Texas character — and it hasn’t wavered as the brand has grown.

We owe the recognition entirely to our guests. The regulars who bring their families, the newcomers who take a chance on us, the crews who pack the patio every crawfish season — you’re the reason a list like this is even possible.

If a world-class travel publication says BB’s is worth a visit, we’d love to prove them right. Find your nearest location across the Houston area and Southeast Texas on our locations page.
