You’ve probably heard your fair share of traditions surrounding what to eat on New Year’s Day. From black eyed peas to greens to ham and many others and all for their own reasons. Well, we have our own tradition here at BB’s Tex-Orleans! It’s our annual New Year’s Day meal of Health, Wealth and Luck! We bring you a big plate of Fried Fish, Black-Eyed Peas and Collard Greens sure to bring you the best of luck in the New Year. Black-eyed peas are known to symbolize “coins”, and are meant to bring monetary gain. The Greens symbolize the green of “dollar bills” and are eaten in hopes of bringing you a financially prosperous New Year. The pork/ham, which we use in both our black-eyed peas and collard greens, is meant to bring “forward motion” or “advancement” to the year ahead. The combination of all these ingredients should get you off to a great start in the new year, and who doesn’t need all the luck they can get? Whether you are superstitious or not, it definitely couldn’t hurt to get your fill of this YUM meal, and maybe it’ll bring you all the good health, wealth, and luck along with it!
*Only available for dine in and to go on January 1st.*
